What are we going to do about it?
America and it's people are now facing some of the darkest days that this nation has ever experienced. Our hearts are heavy with sadness and our feelings of helplessness, despair and even disgrace have become unbearable. These are just some of the emotions that come over us as we look upon our government and witness our politicians making a mockery of all the good that this country once stood for. From the highest levels of our federal government in Washington, to our state capitols, and down to the local communities in which we live, this corruption has become widespread. Allowing our elected officials to remain in office for term after term, and decade after decade, has proven to become the breeding ground for corruption and has led us to the sorrows and disgrace that we now experience. Even though we all know this to be true, it is still very difficult for us to come to terms with the fact that this has actually happened in America. We must now ask of ourselves .....what are we going to do about it?
As we mentioned previously, past efforts to enact Term Limits that would place restrictions on the amount of time a politician could serve in office have failed. Attempting to persuade career politicians to place these kind of restrictions upon themselves is just not being realistic. If we truly wish to remove the corruption that plagues our nation, we must unite and stand shoulder to shoulder to make this a reality. NOW is the time for us to stand up and to be counted. NOW is the time for Americans to take our country back! NOW is the time to bring about the changes that we desire. Changes that will make this country once again a country that is truly representative of its people!
Remove this corruption now!
Our founding fathers had the foresight to provide us with a means of preventing this from happening in our country. They designed our government to be led by Citizen Legislators instead of Career Politicians by affording us the opportunity to remove politicians at regular intervals. Unfortunately, we as the voting public have become complacent with our voting habits. We stood idly by as the corruption spread like wildfire throughout our government. We were too busy with our own lives to take the time needed to oversee the actions and deeds of our politicians. We have allowed them to remain in office for term after term and sometimes for decade after decade. Then add to this, the special interest groups that financially support them during their election campaigns in the anticipation of receiving political favors in return. Political favors such as pet projects, favorable government funding and contracts for companies and organizations, political appointments, taxation preferences, beneficial congressional legislation and regulations,...... and the list just goes on and on. This my fellow Americans is the formula for corruption, and once again, we must now ask of ourselves.....what are we going to do about it?
With this in mind, it will be with our votes that we shall take our country back from those who wish to impose their will upon the people of this nation. From this day forward, Americans must act in concert and refuse to re-elect ANY incumbent government official that seeks another term in office. We must do this all the way from the White House down to the officials in the small towns in which we live. We must replace them ALL. None of them shall be allowed more than one term in office. Now is the time for us to remove the corruption in our government once, and for all. Nothing else that we could do would reduce the amount of corruption in our government faster. It would also send a strong and clear message to all other politicians and to the world, that the people of America will not tolerate this kind of behavior any longer! Remember, if we truly desire to eliminate the corruption that exists within our government, we must remove ALL of our existing politicians and replace them new ones that have the morals and ethics that we require of our them.
You might be wondering why have not mentioned any of the political parties that dominate our government in this country. The reason for this is that our party affiliations or preferences are irrelevant. They have ALL failed us in the performance of their political duties. It is not our intention to influence anyone's political views or to change the balance of political power within our government. If you desire to vote within your party of choice, by all means do so. We are not encouraging anyone to cross party lines. What we are encouraging is that Americans not vote to re-elect any incumbent that seeks an additional term. In order for us to do this, it is imperative that we register with the political party that we prefer. This will enable us the opportunity to vote in the primary elections. For it is here that we will remove this corruption and replace it with new hope and the promise of a brighter and more secure future for America and it's people.
With all that said.....what are we REALLY going to do about it?
Are we going to continue complaining about what's wrong with our country or are we going to actually do something about it? Are we going to be part of the solution or are we going to remain part of the problem? It is time for us to put our differences aside and to work together as Americans to bring about the REAL CHANGE that we desire for our country. The kind of change that will remove the corruption in our government forever.
