The mis­sion of Term Lim­its USA is to encour­age and assist the Peo­ple of Amer­ica in stand­ing up and “Tak­ing Amer­ica Back” from the cor­rupt and self serv­ing career politi­cians that now impose their will upon the cit­i­zens of this Nation. A high pri­or­ity is placed upon restor­ing our coun­try back into what our Found­ing Fathers had cre­ated more than 230 years ago. A nation gov­erned by a small lim­ited fed­eral gov­ern­ment and where the Peo­ple were rep­re­sented by “Cit­i­zen Leg­is­la­tors” of impec­ca­ble val­ues, morals and integrity that were elected by the Peo­ple for the sole pur­pose of car­ry­ing out the People’s will. As the name implies, Term Lim­its USA will strive to reach these goals through the pro­mo­tion and imple­men­ta­tion of Term Lim­its (see “Why Term Lim­its”) for all mem­bers of Con­gress. A total of 12 years in office (2-six year terms for Sen­a­tors and 6-two year terms for Rep­re­sen­ta­tives) is con­sid­ered to be a suf­fi­cient amount of time for them to ful­fill their cam­paign promises and to per­form their duties as man­dated by their constituents.

Although efforts such as this have not suc­ceeded in the past, the cur­rent anti-incumbent sen­ti­ment that is sweep­ing across Amer­ica today cre­ates renewed opti­mism for this endeavor. The Novem­ber elec­tions of 2010 have pro­vided evi­dence that “We, the Peo­ple” of Amer­ica do indeed want a change in Wash­ing­ton and that we are deter­mined to make sure that it hap­pens. What is needed now is for us to keep this momen­tum alive for future elec­tions by stay­ing involved with efforts that will help to bring about the “REAL CHANGES” that we want to see in Amer­ica. It is also imper­a­tive that we uti­lize this oppor­tu­nity to ensure that the changes that we make in our gov­ern­ment today will remain in place tomor­row. To do this we must remove the cor­rupt career politi­cians that exist in Wash­ing­ton today and to sup­port only those can­di­dates that promise or pledge to work towards a Con­sti­tu­tional Amend­ment for Term Lim­its after they get elected into office. The past Novem­ber elec­tions have brought new sup­port­ers of Term Lim­its to Wash­ing­ton, but more are needed in order to have the amount of votes required to pass such legislation.

As evi­denced through­out this web­site, Term Lim­its USA’s emphases in not restricted to pro­mot­ing Term Lim­its alone. Term Lim­its USA also pro­vides infor­ma­tion and links to efforts that pro­mote other impor­tant issues such as repeal­ing Oba­macare, real tax reform (the Fair Tax), cut­ting gov­ern­ment spend­ing, ensur­ing that our gov­ern­ment remains fis­cally respon­si­ble per­ma­nently and bor­der secu­rity to name a few. Past efforts that have pro­moted Term Lim­its solely have seen some lim­ited suc­cess but unfor­tu­nately they have been unsuc­cess­ful in fully accom­plish­ing their goals. Term Lim­its USA endorses a much broader approach that strives to unite all con­ser­v­a­tive efforts under one large umbrella. All sup­port­ing, pro­mot­ing and work­ing with one another in order to accom­plish not only their own indi­vid­ual goals, but striv­ing together to reach the one and most impor­tant goal that they all have in com­mon. The goal of “RESTORING THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA BACK INTO WHAT OUR FOUNDING FATHERS HAD ORIGINALLY CREATED”.

Remem­ber, it took years of bad deci­sions and poli­cies to bring us to the point where we are today. It did not hap­pen with just one idea, indi­vid­ual, orga­ni­za­tion, group, party, effort or activ­ity. It was a com­bi­na­tion of many dif­fer­ent peo­ple and events over a long period of time that brought this upon us. There­fore, it will only be through a UNITED EFFORT on the part of the Amer­i­can Peo­ple that there will be a change of course in which this nation is head­ing. It is the Mis­sion of Term Lim­its USA to assist the Peo­ple of Amer­ica in accom­plishing exactly that!
