Are Our Politicians Stupid or Evil?

That man is a fallen crea­ture has never been more clearly demon­strated than by the behav­ior of our elected politi­cians in Wash­ing­ton. Most of them are highly edu­cated lawyers who have stud­ied Amer­i­can his­tory in their uni­ver­si­ties, and yet have acted so stu­pidly as to have brought this great nation to the brink of finan­cial disaster.

Most Amer­i­cans find it dif­fi­cult to accept the fact that their polit­i­cal lead­ers are either stu­pid or evil. They can’t believe that smart peo­ple can be that stu­pid. But they also find it dif­fi­cult to believe that such intel­li­gent peo­ple can be that evil. Yet they know that it is the politi­cians in Wash­ing­ton who have brought this great nation to the brink of eco­nomic catastrophe.

That is why this great chasm or gulf between ordi­nary Amer­i­cans and their polit­i­cal lead­ers has grown increas­ingly large over the decades. Of course it is easy for the politi­cians to manip­u­late many ordi­nary Amer­i­cans into believ­ing that right is wrong and wrong is right. But there are always those equally intel­li­gent Amer­i­cans able to resist such manipulation.

Thus, this nation is now engaged in a full-fledged war between the forces of good and the forces of evil. Have the Amer­i­can peo­ple been so psy­cho­log­i­cally brain­washed that they can no longer tell good from evil? Have our pub­lic schools become such pur­vey­ors of evil that they rou­tinely turn mil­lions of young Amer­i­cans into func­tional illit­er­ates? The answer, unfor­tu­nately is yes.

Politi­cians have amassed an unsus­tain­able debt bur­den total­ing $1.6 tril­lion this year, $15 tril­lion by the end of this year and more than $113 tril­lion when count­ing unfunded lia­bil­i­ties. Cur­rent and past Pres­i­dents as well as Con­gress (includ­ing the Repub­li­can estab­lish­ment) have shown absolutely no capac­ity to sig­nif­i­cantly reduce fed­eral spend­ing and debt.
There­fore, I as well as most other con­ser­v­a­tives across the coun­try are oppos­ing any increase in the legal fed­eral debt limit. It is time for Con­gress and the Pres­i­dent to get seri­ous about cut­ting spend­ing. DO NOT Increase The Debt Ceil­ing! Stop Spend­ing OUR Money! Remem­ber, last Novem­bers elec­tions were not an effort to just elect Repub­li­cans. It was an effort to send true con­ser­v­a­tive politi­cians to Wash­ing­ton that will get our fis­cal house in order, bal­ance the bud­get, and to return our nation back to what our found­ing fathers had intended! Budget Chairman Paul Ryan on FOX News Sunday

Chris Wal­lace (FOX News Sun­day): “On Capi­tol Hill, Repub­li­cans and Democ­rats are bat­tling over a few bil­lion dol­lars in gov­ern­ment spend­ing, while fac­ing the dead­line for a par­tial gov­ern­ment shut­down next Fri­day. But this week, the House GOP will unveil a new bud­get for next year, that would cut tril­lions of dol­lars. Here with a first look at the plan, Con­gress­man Paul Ryan, Chair­man of the House Bud­get Com­mit­tee. Con­gress­man, wel­come back to Fox News Sunday.”

Dur­ing this inter­view, Ryan states that his party’s bud­get pro­posal for 2012 would cut deficits by more than $4 tril­lion over the next decade, vow­ing to tackle costly enti­tle­ments like Medicare and Med­ic­aid. The pro­posal, set to be unveiled Tues­day, would serve as the Repub­li­cans’ offi­cial response to Pres­i­dent Obama’s pro­posed $3.7 tril­lion bud­get for 2012. He also accused Obama of “punt­ing” and said “Repub­li­cans’ plan would exceed the fis­cal goals set by the president’s fis­cal com­mis­sion — which issued a report call­ing for $4 tril­lion in cuts. “We can’t keep kick­ing this can down the road,” Ryan said. “The pres­i­dent has punted. Congress Still Leaves $4.8 billion in Earmarks Untouched!

Corruption in Washington PicAccord­ing to USA Today as well as The Her­itage Foun­da­tion, $4.8 bil­lion in ear­marks were left untouched by the Con­tin­u­ing Res­o­lu­tions (CR) that Con­gress recently passed to fund the gov­ern­ment until April 8th. They reported;

House Repub­li­cans who crafted two short-term spend­ing bills made $5.3 bil­lion in cuts by going after some of Washington’s least pop­u­lar spend­ing: those con­gres­sional pet projects known as “ear­marks.” Even so, a con­gres­sional report shows they left $4.8 bil­lion in ear­marks untouched — and crit­ics of con­gres­sional pork say they should go after it.  “Many in Con­gress promised tax­pay­ers a full ear­mark mora­to­rium, not a half mora­to­rium,” says Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., an ear­mark oppo­nent who requested the report from the non-partisan Con­gres­sional Research Ser­vice. “Pro­tect­ing nearly $5 bil­lion in ear­marks from cuts sends the wrong mes­sage to taxpayers.”

What I really want to know is what part of the Peo­ple of Amer­ica DEMANDING that Wash­ing­ton get Fed­eral spend­ing under con­trol did they not under­stand? Do they really thing that we came out to vote in Novem­ber and then went back to sleep? How dare they spend our money to ful­fill their cam­paign promises to their finan­cial sup­port­ers. If they really feel a need to spend this money on these pet projects, let them take up a col­lec­tion in Con­gress and then pay for it out of their own over­in­flated salaries! Michele Bachmann Running in 2012?

Michele BachmannIt appears that Min­nesota Repub­li­can Rep. Michele Bach­mann is inch­ing closer to a 2012 Pres­i­den­tial run. As a strong Tea Party favorite and out­spo­ken con­ser­v­a­tive Tea Party Cau­cus mem­ber, she has spent much of the past two months drum­ming up sup­port in the early pri­mary states of Iowa, New Hamp­shire, and South Car­olina. Recently she has been quoted as say­ing, “The deci­sion is not made yet. I want to be clear about that,” — “But if we do make the deci­sion, we are look­ing at the early part of sum­mer.” I say hats off to this lady! She is not afraid to speak up against those who are not act­ing in the best inter­est of Amer­ica and it does not mat­ter what polit­i­cal party that they belong to either. She has proven to be quite com­fort­able going head on against the GOP lead­er­ship on the impor­tant issues. Defund Obamacare — 3/15/11 Update…

…As of today, the House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives has not voted on the Con­tin­u­ing Res­o­lu­tion that will keep the gov­ern­ment run­ning for three weeks. It is now expected to be voted on tomor­row (Wednes­day, March 16). This means that we have another day in which to have our voices heard on this issue. Efforts are still under­way to pre­vent tax­payer money from fund­ing the imple­men­ta­tion of Oba­maCare in this lat­est Con­tin­u­ing Res­o­lu­tion bill but our sup­port is needed and it is needed NOW! We must con­tact our Rep­re­sen­ta­tives and urge them to sup­port lan­guage in this bill that would defund Oba­maCare and rescind the $105,464,000 in funds that were hid­den in the leg­is­la­tion to imple­ment it! Michele Bachmann exposes $105 billion in hidden Obamacare funding

Once again we find out that our elected offi­cials have mis­lead the peo­ple of Amer­ica. They pro­claimed over and over again that Oba­macare will not cost any­thing to the Amer­i­can tax­payer. What they didn’t tell us was how they buried $105 BILLION into the bill to help fund it. This is what hap­pens to us when we allow politi­cians to remain in office for years. Career politi­cians like Reed and Pelosi among oth­ers have been in Wash­ing­ton for so many years that they actu­ally believe that the Amer­i­can peo­ple are stu­pid and that they can do what they want and no one will do any­thing about it! It is time that we prove them wrong. Call you Sen­a­tors and Rep­re­sen­ta­tives and demand that they stop this fund­ing as well as any other fund­ing for Oba­macare and then insist that they repeal Oba­macare entirely. Freshman Lawmakers Make the Case for Government Spending Cuts”

The Her­itage Foun­da­tion has released this new video of a recent inter­view con­ducted on Capi­tol Hill by Tina Korbe in which she speaks with fresh­man con­gress­men about why they believe cut­ting spend­ing is a high pri­or­ity for the newly elected Con­gress. It is very encour­ag­ing to hear these con­gress­men speak on the issue but they really need our help in order to have this 100 bil­lion dol­lar bud­get cut get passed through Con­gress. All of us know that we can­not keep spend­ing more money than what we have, nor can we con­tinue bor­row­ing more money than we can afford to pay back. Tea Party House Members Hold GOP Leadership’s Feet to the Fire!

This week the Repub­li­can lead­er­ship attempted to rush the re-authorization of the Patriot Act to a vote in the House. They did so with­out hav­ing com­mit­tee hear­ings and allow­ing only 45 min­utes for floor debate. These are tac­tics that the GOP as well as most Amer­i­can cit­i­zens sharply crit­i­cized when they were used under Nancy Pelosi’s watch. Freezing the debt ceiling without defaulting on our debt obligations?

In a Sen­ate Update released by the Sen­ate Con­ser­v­a­tives Fund, newly-elected Sen­a­tor Pat Toomey (R-PA), out­lines how we can freeze the debt ceil­ing with­out default­ing on our debt oblig­a­tions. He writes in the Wall Street Journal,

In fact, if Con­gress refuses to raise the debt ceil­ing, the fed­eral gov­ern­ment will still have far more than enough money to fully ser­vice our debt. Next year, for instance, about 6.5% of all pro­jected fed­eral gov­ern­ment expen­di­tures will go to inter­est on our debt, and tax rev­enue is pro­jected to cover about 67% of all gov­ern­ment expen­di­tures. With roughly 10 times more income than needed to honor our debt oblig­a­tions, why would we ever default?”

To make absolutely sure, I intend to intro­duce leg­is­la­tion that would require the Trea­sury to make inter­est pay­ments on our debt its first pri­or­ity in the event that the debt ceil­ing is not raised. This would not only ensure the con­tin­ued con­fi­dence of investors at home and abroad, but would enable us to have an hon­est debate about the con­se­quences of our even­tual deci­sion about the debt ceiling.”

Con­tact your Sen­a­tors and Rep­re­sen­ta­tives and demand that they sup­port this effort and reduce the spend­ing instead of rais­ing the debt limit. This is one of the main rea­sons that we sent them to Washington!

Welcome Back Conservatism!

It is a new year, a new con­gress, but most impor­tantly for Amer­ica it is a  res­ur­rec­tion of the Con­ser­v­a­tive val­ues that our beloved nation was built upon. After being man­dated by the elec­torate dur­ing the Novem­ber elec­tions, mem­bers of this new Con­ser­v­a­tive move­ment have arrived in Wash­ing­ton and are announc­ing that they really do intend on ful­fill­ing their promises to the Amer­i­can peo­ple. Many of them have also shown sup­port for revis­it­ing the issue of Term Lim­its. What a refresh­ing change that is! After a week delay due to the tragedy in Ari­zona it is now time to see if they are really sin­cere and strong enough to stand up and fight against the many pow­er­ful long term incum­bents that are deter­mined to ignore the will of the peo­ple and to con­tinue the out of con­trol spend­ing and expan­sion of our fed­eral gov­ern­ment. With the elec­torate remain­ing deeply involved and mak­ing sure that their voices are heard when they dis­ap­prove of any actions that do not coin­cide with their demands, I have become opti­mistic that these new leg­is­la­tors will indeed begin to change the direc­tion in which our nation is head­ing. As con­cerned Amer­i­cans it is up to ALL of us to watch them very closely and to make SURE that they really do!

The Shot Heard Around the World!

On Novem­ber 2nd 2010, Con­ser­v­a­tive Amer­i­cans raised their weapon, took aim and fired a shot that was heard around the world. In a peace­ful, well orches­trated and effec­tive response to an out of con­trol gov­ern­ment, the peo­ple of Amer­ica deliv­ered a blis­ter­ing defeat to the polit­i­cal estab­lish­ment elite. It should not only be clear that the peo­ple are reject­ing the poli­cies and agen­das of the sit­ting Demo­c­ra­tic Party — they are also putting the Repub­li­can Party on notice that they had bet­ter deliver on their promises too. The tide is chang­ing in our nation and it should be appar­ent to all that the Peo­ple of Amer­ica do truly intend on Tak­ing Amer­ica Back!

It’s Time to “Take America Back”

The upcom­ing midterm elec­tions are with­out a doubt the most impor­tant elec­tions of our life­times. It could very well be our last oppor­tu­nity to restore and pre­serve the Repub­lic that our found­ing fathers had sac­ri­ficed so much for. Our nation is being “Fun­da­men­tally Trans­formed” before our very eyes and if we don not stand up now, the dam­age being done will become irre­versible. Even though we are all aware of this, it is still worth men­tion­ing again since the elec­tions are almost upon us.

With that being said, it is now time for us to con­cen­trate our efforts on “get­ting out the vote”. Remem­ber, not every­one has fol­lowed cur­rent events as closely as you and I have. It is up to us to bring them up to speed on their choices and to encour­age them to get out to the vot­ing polls. Our nation is depend­ing upon us to make sure that all of our fam­ily and friends stand up with us and “Take Amer­ica Back!”.

Government is the Problem — Let Us Fix it in November!

It was out of tyranny and absolute rule that the ideas to cre­ate our nation came. A nation that would hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are cre­ated equal, that they are endowed by their Cre­ator with cer­tain unalien­able Rights, that among these are Life, Lib­erty and the pur­suit of Hap­pi­ness. A nation of Peo­ple that would put restric­tions upon their own gov­ern­ment in order to pro­tect the peo­ple from that same gov­ern­ment. For it would be the PEOPLE, and NOT the gov­ern­ment, with their new found free­doms and rights in hand, that would make this nation great.

But now, that great nation along with all the free­doms and lib­er­ties that it had pro­vided for it’s peo­ple, remains no longer. Instead, there remains a nation of tyranny and absolute rule. One that no longer lis­tens to, nor rep­re­sents it’s peo­ple. One that has become crip­pled by it’s own greed and cor­rup­tion. One in which it’s lead­ers sat­isfy their thirst for absolute power by tak­ing it away from the peo­ple that they once swore to serve and to pro­tect. Read the rest of this entry »
